this little bundle could have gone home with me! he had such long fingers & toes, not to mention he was just too adorable. the boots belong to his daddy, he wore them on their weddind day and when they did their maternity portraits as well.

thanks K & N for bringing the little guy in, it was a great way to spend a sunday afternoon.

With the Month of October being recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation holds its Annual Fund Drive for six weeks starting in mid-September and ending in October. President Ronald Reagan enacted Proclamation 5890 in October of 1988 to recognize that each year, approximately a million pregnancies in the United States alone end in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of a newborn child. Reagan stated, "A national observance offers us the opportunity to increase our understanding of the great tragedy involved in the deaths of unborn or newborn babies. isn't she the sweetest?

it seems summer has been the time for me to get together with my college friends, and this shoot was no different. meet miss b ~ her mom and i were roommates our very first year in college at good 'ol mcmurry university. it was so good to see carol and photograph her little angel, miss b, not to mention enjoy some great mexican food while in dallas. carol, thanks for letting me capture these moments of miss b, i can't wait to see you again! l&m, sandy

brothers ~

these two brothers are just too handsome! look at those eyes ~ girls watch out. even my four year-old knew what she was seeing when she met these two boys, she gave them her best sweet and innocent look as she played shy (and she is anything but!). thanks mom & dad for allowing me to capture this special moment between your little guys...they won't stay little for long.

meet baby j, she was so adorable and slept through most of her session ~ even with her older brother bouncing around. when they are so fresh and new it is hard to not hold 'em & kiss 'em and want to take them home! thanks family j for sharing your new addition with me, she is simply adorable.

more about storyboards...

many of you have asked about story boards after seeing my product guide and asked exactly what are they?

here is a sample, you typically take multiple photos and put it into a layout (aka collage)...i have tons of templates that vary in size from 5x30 (with 5 photo openings) to 40x60 (with 8 photo openings). this particular one is sized in 16x20, so you would either order it in a mounted print or a canvas of that size.

storyboards work well when you have a hard time deciding exactly which photo to choose and want to have them all. it is best if they fall into the same story line (these are all from a newborn session) but you could also do one after a Watch Me Grow package ~ so you would include a newborn, 4 month, 8 month, and 12 month photo. i even have one from a senior session after not being able to decide on my favorites...just ask for more information if interested.

finding the right words??

I will admit it, keeping up with my blog is a struggle. At first I thought I'd just use it for a sneak peek at sessions and cool articles, then lately I haven't even done that. So, my new thing for today ~ find a saying that fits the family. This one says it all about Family L.

it is hard to believe that miss c has finally arrived, only a couple of weeks ago i had the chance to capture her beautiful mother and now i get to see this precious baby she was hiding inside.







it was a surprise to all, mom & dad decided to find out upon her arrival as to whether they were having a boy or a girl...let's just say that pink flowers are fitting in for family m with the recent arrival of miss c! thanks for letting me share in this special moment, i look forward to many more...

how do you make a one year old laugh?

make sure his little brother is crying!



it seems that i have had lots of baby boys with names that start with the letter c ~ and this little guy is no different. meet baby c & his too cute & too active big brother. mom and dad had lots of fun trying to keep these two in the same place for more than a couple of seconds. but, all in all, we had a good time!

At this age you can't beat a toothless grin ~ Miss Sage is on the verge of having her first tooth yet this photo doesn't show it. She was one happy little girl. Gotta love that smile!

Meet Miss A & Baby Brother C ~ this big sister was so proud of her new baby brother. She sincerely loves him and was very excited to tell me all about him. We had a good time; I look forward to seeing more of your cute family soon!

Cutie in the Tutu

Meet Miss A ~ her mom brought her in for photos in her baptism dress, which I might add is just beautiful (but I won't spoil it for the family that may see these in advance). We decided to give the new tutu a try and Miss A did not disappoint...she is just too cute!

Vote for America's Cutest (Last Minute) Tax Deduction

One of my clients - and her photo - is on TurboTax's Cutest Tax Deduction site! Jillian Sage - who was a very cooperative baby model - is the one to vote for. Its a thrill to see my picture of her up on the site.

She was a brand-new baby when we did the shoot. I went on location to photograph her at her home, using a soft box and natural light for the series. Shooting in home can be a challenge, since the last thing new parents really should worry about is having the space I need to set up everything. In this case, it worked out pretty well - we had just enough space. Of course, with a model this cute it really was hard to take a bad photo.

Thank you to K&C for letting me snap some pictures of their cute little bundle of joy, Wesley! He may be tiny but he’s already full of personality and made it known to me, along with Mom & Dad, that he was in charge. These were a couple of moments when he finally slept…
